He is repped by ICM, Anonymous Content and Morris Yorn. Levy, who has appeared in more than 50 films, will next be seen in Goon, a hockey comedy that stars Seann William Scott and Jay Baruchel, and he will reprise his role from the American Pie films in April’s American Reunion. Perry, who wrote the script and is directing, produces with Paul Hall and Ozzie Areu. I'll write something down and go, OK, what is that? That's garbage, put it away. Also in the cast are Doris Roberts, Devan Leos, Tom Arnold and Danielle Campbell. "I don't really sit down and doodle funny things. But for me, doing what I do in the movie, if I do it with as much intelligence as I can muster - I mean, cheap is cheap and funny is funny - but if I can make him credible in my own mind, then I'm making him credible to other people, and that's as good as I can do." I've done movies that are really done without a hell of a lot of intelligence going on. "Believe me, I've done movies that are just the lowest of the low. It doesn't matter how cheap a joke you're going for or how cheap a situation, if you're doing it smart, then it's quite valid and good. Those are the rules that have kept this theater going in Chicago since 1959, and have kept it going in Toronto since 1973 doing eight shows a week, and is: Always work at the top of your intelligence level. You go into the theater and you're given these kind of golden rules of comedy that work for The Second City theater. "Maybe it was the influence that Second City had on me that kind of honed my perception of comedy. I mean, as a kid, if I was reading Noel Coward I wouldn't turn to somebody and say, 'You've got to I don't think I really got into anything more sophisticated until much later in my life. I loved all the cheap stuff - Abbott and Costello, I was a huge fan of Jerry Lewis, Martin and Lewis - when I was a kid. The Kobal Collection Eugene Levy with Jason Biggs and the now-infamous defaced pie in one of his most popular recurring roles as Jim's dad in American Pie. It's Levy! No, it's a bird.' And that would 'Vote for Levy' at the bottom. "It got to the point where I ran for president of the student council. And this became kind of infectious it just got around. And he said, 'I gotta show this to my friends over at the next table.' So he took the book and passed it around and people started laughing. "So I would write these things in my little notebook, which I entitled 'Poetry Pros and Cons,' and at some point somebody in the cafeteria said, 'What are you writing in there?' He looked over to see it, and I got kind of defensive because I thought, 'Nobody is going to find this funny, this is just for me.' He said, 'No, let me see it,' and then he started laughing. I would title something: 'Insect Asides.' And then I would write: 'Spider spider spin your web/clean your cleats and scratch your head/don't eat figs, tomatoes or spaghetti/just lie around and throw confetti.' "In high school I took an old notebook and I had these weird little stories or poems. I didn't want to change the lines, but I quickly learned that he wants you to open up in places and just go a little wild in an improvisational sense." I didn't know that when I started shooting. " an amazing improviser, and he encourages improvising from all the cast in the movie. We did that until we got back to Toronto - and then we got cheap again."Ĭheap comedy, it is clear, is something that Levy still can't leave behind. "We kind of got the ABCs in how to move a scene along and make it work without getting cheap. "We were used to doing a cheaper version of comedy up in Toronto than they were used to in Chicago," Levy tells Simon. It was, Simon says, "the greatest Second City cast I ever saw." Weekend Edition's Scott Simon, who saw Levy perform in 1974 when Levy and other members of Second City's Canadian chapter - including Catherine O'Hara, Dan Aykroyd and John Candy - traveled for an improv show at the theater's original home in Chicago. Levy has been acclaimed for his wild improvisational work over the years at The Second City comedy theater and in films including Photofest Levy (left) with some of the noted comedians that were part of Second City in Toronto: (from left, after Levy) Dan Aykroyd, Gilda Radner, Rosemary Radcliffe and John Candy.

Award-Winning Multi-Application Laser Systemįotona’s SP Dynamis laser system is designed to perform all major aesthetic treatments. Jansen remains arbitration-eligible through 2024 and would be the lowest-cost option of the three in terms of money and trade capital. Defensively, he grades as slightly above average, too. While injuries ranging from multiple pulled hamstrings to a broken finger and strained oblique have cost him at least 90 games in each of the last two years, Jansen has still shown an ability to drive the ball from the right side. The rugged and bespectacled Jansen bears a slight resemblance to former Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia, and he has improved considerably since a miserable 2020. Regardless, if the Sox plan to pivot to the trade market, as Bloom said last week, then Toronto is worth calling. Verdugo would be too steep a price to pay for Jansen, who has averaged only 71 games a year since 2021, and he's probably not enough to pry away Kirk, but he could be a start. In Alex Verdugo and Jarren Duran, the Red Sox actually have something Toronto needs, as noted by MLB Trade Rumors, and that's a left-handed-hitting outfielder. And if you're seeking maximum upside, then consensus top-10 prospect Gabriel Moreno is the target, although it will take a ransom to get him in the unlikely event that Toronto makes him available at all. If you'd rather a young star with remaining years of team control, then 24-year-old All-Star Alejandro Kirk is your man. If you're looking for a veteran with pop, 27-year-old Danny Jansen owns 26 homers in his last 399 at-bats. There's something for everyone, depending on aggressively you want to spend. The Blue Jays boast the deepest catching rotation in the big leagues, and someone's got to go. Tomase: Will Red Sox recapture 2013 or 2021 magic? Don't bank on itīut that could change this winter. Since Chaim Bloom took control of the baseball operations, he has also dealt with the Rays (left-hander Jeffrey Springs for catching prospect Ronaldo Hernández).īloom has yet to swap with the Blue Jays, unless you count the saga of reliever Joel Payamps, who bounced between the Sox and Jays on waiver claims three times in three weeks in 2021. The Red Sox helped relieve luxury tax pressure on the Yankees two years ago, for instance, by acquiring reliever Adam Ottavino, who ended up contributing to an ALCS run. That to me is what teams are so leery about.Trading within the division isn't as forbidden as it used to be. But when that skill erodes, and you're not sure it's coming back, that's when a guy becomes toxic. I think teams will take on a player with a bad attitude, but is still good. "I think teams will take on a player that has talent, but is getting paid a lot. His average fastball was 93, and the hardest he can throw this year is half a mile-per-hour over that. The fastest fastball he's thrown in the last month was 93.5 miles-per-hour. "His fastball averages 90-93, and Josh Beckett averaged 93 last year. He's just not a good pitcher right now," said Passan. "I think more than both of those things it's his stuff. What is it that makes Beckett unmovable? Is it his attitude or the nearly $38 million owed to him over the next two years? "There is still not going to be anybody that wants him at the price the Red Sox are peddling him." "Is that actually going to happen? Tough to say at this point unless the guy goes out and pitches his ass off for the next month or so," he continued. I think they want to do everything they can to dump that contract without eating a lot of the money." They know how bad that would look, and they know that extension – even at the time – a lot of people thought it was too much for Josh Beckett to be getting. I think there is definitely some personal feelings involved with this one where they don't want to eat the entirety of the contract. "There is a difference between being able to move him, and to move him for what they think is the right price. Show Wednesday night, and said it's pretty simple why Beckett is still a member of the Boston Red Sox. Passan joined 98.5 The Sports Hub's The D.A. Many of them blame Beckett for the "toxic" atmosphere in the Red Sox clubhouse, a sentiment Yahoo! Sports' Jeff Passan said the team's ownership also feels. BOSTON (CBS) –Josh Beckett remained with the Red Sox after Tuesday's MLB Trade Deadline, much to the chagrin of Boston fans. (SPOILER WARNING FOR HUNTER X HUNTER, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST, AND NARUTO + SHIPPUDEN) P.S people are giving mha too much credit for executing the generic tropes well. The show itself doesn't stand out in any way. This season has very little story progression. All in all mha is enjoyable show with terrible plot. The art style this season is basic like always. Mirio is only one with potential out of the 3. In temrs of character designs they are basically naruto, sasuke and sakura. The fight itself had the best choreography out of the 3. He is literally yelling at everyone around himself. Like why do you scream so much? I get that people had high expectations for you since birth but why so much? Tone it down ffs lmao. I like bakugo more now even tho i still think his peronality is forced. Too many bland characters with generic motivations and view points. Even tho the cast is better than the terrible plot of this show it's still highly overrated. Side characters are very forgetable and the development is unievene. And again we get to the generic tournament arc with too many boring side cahracters that i don't care for. There was a whole episode dedicated to rooms lmao. There was literally almost nothing big happening. Second arc was sooooooooo boring even tho it was filled with action. Even tho all might is my favorite character, his death would have made this show so much better. Everyone was just injured and they recovered. Even when bakugo was kidnapped he got retrieaved at the end. There is no suspenese, we just know good guys are gonna win. The fight was dull from the actaul fighting perspective. But we all knew all might was gonna win and he wins the most generic way possible. It told the great story and it was good for all mights character. All might vs AFO was the peak of the season tho. He was supposed to be badass and his OST was supposed to be scary but it just wasn't. We still don't know anything about AFO's motivation like with almost every vilalin in this show. Again some good animation even tho there were some errors. he is a angry brat that wants to be acnkowladged. Long story short students fight some villains and bakugo gets captured even tho bakugo clearly could have prevented it but he didn't because. At least they are memorable even tho the characters themselves aren't. On the plus side one thing that mha does good is the character desgins. There was that tsundare girl, that discount dead pool guy, mindless musuclar who is just killing for the sake of killing, that discount stain guy that was like a lizard or something, dude with big lips and uhhh what was his name again? That dude that's obviously todorokis brother or something. Like always bunch of dumb villains that lack motivation appeared and i simply didn't care for them. There is no bigger, deeper plot to get invested in to. Season 2 is trounament arc, villains invading and finally season 3 is characters training and villains invading. Season 1 is basically characters training, villains invading On the plus side deku got some development.Īm i the only one that noticed how repetitive mha is? I know, i know you are gonna say "BuT MHa fIgHTs aRe ABouT StorY" so is almost every fight in anime, that doesn't mean it should be mindless. It was just a flashy fight with 2 dudes punching each other with fists. The animation was great but again it was so generic and it lacked both creativity and choreography. Other than that some todoroki development and deku vs muscular build up were only things worth seeing first 3 episodes.Ĭharacters training was much longer than it should have been. Few attempts of comedy here and there that simply didn't land. Season 3 started of with a typical generic school trip. 60 episodes in and we had very little story progression and world building which is dissapoiting. I always considered mha for a mediocre enjoyable show. Memes today are as flexible and varied as the whole internet, and Kapwing is the generator that can keep pace with your content. Now I’ve figured out how to create the inspiration, but I used to have to wait for it. I was doing a lot of bike riding around the city and just exploring, and I just get really creative and really inspired from exploring. He sent me back some vocals it just came together online. “I was in Maastricht, in the Netherlands, staying with a friend, and I sent Nick a demo that I was working on. Looking back, it is pretty interesting to see how that record did influence a lot of music, especially in Australia at the time.” I felt like I knew that there was something special here when I made it, but I didn’t expect it to travel how it travelled. Those samples fuelled a lot of the record. It came together pretty quickly I was just super inspired by all of these amazing vocals and things that he gave me on this hard drive. I found that Otis Redding sample in there and just started messing around with it at home in my little bedroom studio. He's also on Future Classic, and he gave me this folder of all these classic soul vocal samples. “I went to my friend's studio-Michael Di Francesco, Touch Sensitive. I was super inspired, went home that night to a little Airbnb, and wrote that beat.” Beautiful place-it's super old, lots of castles. “Sintra was named after a place in Portugal called Sintra. It’s been a wild ride.” Here Streten walks through his favourite tracks on Flume. It was intense at a young age to have all that happen. Ironically, I ended up playing in clubs a lot after that, when it started to take off. The Flume stuff was just a bit of fun, a creative outlet for me to make stuff that wasn't for the club. “I had another project at the time called What So Not, which was more club stuff, and that was my main focus. “It was quite a shock as it was really just my side project,” he says. Streten is surprised by how much his debut album blew up when it was released in 2012. It wasn’t until a couple months after that first gig that he won a demo contest, got signed by Future Classic and left his job to focus entirely on what soon became an incredibly successful career. From that moment, I started to look at it differently-I always thought that I was okay at doing music and I had fun doing it, but I never really thought I could actually make a career out of it.” Real name Harley Streten, the producer was still living at home in Manly and waiting tables at Hard Rock Cafe. I remember it being so flooring and surreal. After the show, I was on the way out and I met someone on the stairwell who was a fan and we just had a chat. “I had my first fan interaction after my first gig,” Flume tells Apple Music, recalling his first performance in August 2011. Finally, follow the instructions and let it be completed. Now, close the program and run the crack file.
